Dr. Tammy Jorgensen-Smith Presents Keynote at the Florida Rehabilitation Association

In October, Dr. Tammy Jorgensen-Smith presented a keynote address at the 2014 Conference of the Florida Rehabilitation Association.  The topic of her presentation was Successful employment outcomes through Discovery. The Discovery process differs from traditional vocational rehabilitation evaluation in that it is conducted in a natural setting, it is individualized, data is gathered from observation, focuses on the attributes of the individual, and is comprehensive.  The vocational profile that is created identifies careers that reflect personal preferences, employment goals, gifts, and talents of the individual.  The representative profile that is created is used as a marketing tool to present the job seeker to potential employers.  Both profiles assist in helping persons with disabilities obtain real jobs and real wages in real business settings.
