Neurobiology and Rehabilitation Counseling: Is there a fit? presented at the meeting of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education

Dr. Charlotte Dixon presented an invited paper on "Neurobiology and Rehabilitation Counseling: Is there a fit?" at the annual conference of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education.  There continues to be more emphasis on neurobiology in the rehabiliation of individuals with traumatic brain injury, cognitive disorders, epilepsy, Guillain-Barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis, neuropathies, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries, and stroke.  The question Dr. Dixon examines is how does the field of Rehabilitation Counseling incorporate neurobiology into pre-service and in-service education.
